Client Concerns

We work with clients with a variety of concerns. We want to help people identify what is and what is not working in their lives, develop healthier coping mechanisms, learn more ways to effectively manage their emotions, be more authentic and improve their interpersonal relationships.

Eating Disorders and Body Image Concerns

Eating disorders often serve some purpose in your life, even if that purpose is not initially clear. Sometimes it’s to feel a sense of control, to feel successful, to have a purpose, to be “the healthy one”, to get comfort or attention.

Relationship Counseling

Relationships are hard. They require work. But, they shouldn’t be so hard.

Anxiety

Feelings of anxiety and stress are common as we cope with the daily demands of our lives but sometimes these feelings become overwhelming and interfere with overall happiness or one’s ability to function. Like depression, anxiety symptoms can be mild, moderate or severe. Counseling for anxiety issues can help you better understand the interactions between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors that may trigger anxious symptoms, help you identify and combat anxious symptoms when they arise, and learn techniques designed to reduce or prevent anxious symptoms.

Trauma

Unfortunately, many people have experienced some sort of trauma or abuse in their lives including unwanted or coerced sex, sexual abuse, interpersonal violence, or verbal/emotional abuse.

LGBTQ+ Issues

This world was not build for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer (LGBTQ+) people and often LGBTQ+ folks are told that who they are is not okay.

Depression

Depression can be mild, moderate, or severe and most people experience some depressive symptoms at some point in their lives. Sometimes depressive symptoms can significantly impact one’s functioning or level of happiness and counseling can provide some relief. Counseling can help clients better understand the interactions between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors that may trigger depressive symptoms, help you identify and combat depressive symptoms when they arise, and learn techniques designed to reduce or prevent depressive symptoms.

Self-Injury Counseling

Self-injury often offers a temporary sense of relief and a way to cope but, unfortunately, it also tends to work less well over time and people find they need to do it more often or more intensely to feel the same relief.
